Holistic Personality Development

We, at APS, PRTC strive for the overall development of the child, so that the child is prepared to face the future with confidence.
Since the inception of the Holistic Development programme in all APS’s it has been our motto to inculcate the values in the academic curriculum as well as in the co scholastic activities.
It is believed that common behavioural problems can be prevented or cured if a strong foundation is laid at an early age towards Holistic Personality Development.

Introduction

Educators, parents, each and every individual are thinking on how to prepare children for successful and positive future generation in the twenty first century. In today’s changing social and cultural environment adds more complexity to the preparation of the future generations.

A new vision of educating children is required if they are to become successful in the future.

The main objective of the programme is to make the future generations to face the challenging times confidently and successfully and to have personalities with strong ethical values.

A Workshop on the Whole School Approach for Holistic Personality Development in the students of APS of Southern Command for Leadership Teams was held at APS camp Pune on 25th and 26th April 2014 under the noble guidance of Mrs Nirmla Tambe.

The workshop was conducted with the help of Powerpoint presentation , activities. It was an interactive session with the objective to chalk out a programme in the curriculum for class I – XI to enhance the personality of the learners in various streams. The Leadership teams from our school attended the workshop.

Best Practices 2018-2019

Best practices impacts the students by providing them a positive environment and providing motivation to learn.

The following activities are adapted to develop moral values and personality in students.

Visit to orphanage, Blind School and old age homes.

Discussions related to current topic.

Quality circle time.

Orientation programme for parents.

Students prepare and present presentations in a group for Science and other subjects.

Book Review by the students.

Participation in various competitions.

Reading club – once in a week, they read in the class.

Segregating waste – waste management – Making of compost pit.

One minute talk on the latest topics.

Students voice their opinion through NIE

All the highlights of various inter and intra school events are published in NIE inspiring the students to aspire higher.

Morning Assembly are being conducted according to the ‘Theme of the Month’. Skits , Mimes, Group Song and Dance , Competition, Quotes and Street Play are enacted keeping the theme in mind. Students learn respective values by listening , participating  and viewing the programmes.

Summer Workshop

With the onset of new academic session, every year , workshop on Holistic Personality Development is conducted during the summer vacation.

The teachers are positive and enthusiastic in their approach.

The integrated curriculum based on whole school approach is mapped into the Annual Split of Syllabus

Training sessions on TAL is conducted to keep the teachers abreast of latest technology
